Editor’s Note: In 2022, I started the year with a beautiful book that really touched my heart: Goodbye, Again by Jonny Sun. It's a book of short essays that put me in a deep state of gratitude, empathy, and nostalgia each time I picked it up. It was a wonderful way to begin the year.
So this year, I've collected a few of my own creative pieces to kick off 2023, hoping in a humble way to offer a similar comfort to my readers amidst the change that can come with a new year, new resolutions, and new intentions.
Background
This first piece is a reflection on my move to India.
It’s about challenging our own perspectives by seeing that there’s always more than one perspective if we look close enough. Like finding beauty in the mundane or excitement in the things that scare us or novelty in the familiar. It’s about keeping an open heart, even when it feels impossible. Even when you know it won’t last.
Chasing the Sun
What are you chasing? What is your ‘sun’?
All my love,
Shiv
